How to Eat A Balance Diet; Maintaining Healthy Lifestyle

One of the most important things you can do for yourself as a human being is to eat a well-balanced diet. Life is worth more and much more than it deserves to be taken good care of. The kind of food we consume on daily basis goes a long way to determine the condition of our health.

If we eat good food, we are liable to live longer, stronger and healthier. Again, if we take good consideration, and try to regulate the kind of food we eat, and how best to eat them, notwithstanding the natural disasters and uncertain Casualties, we are prone to have a longer lifespan.

You see, most at times people misquote having enough food on the table or being overfed as having had a balanced diet. Some other times too people wrongly understand taking enough of one class of food as eating a balanced diet. Maybe that food was richly prepared with much quantity of meat. They fail to understand the meaning of the word, “Balance Diet”. So, because of this, we need to ask ourselves this question;

What Exactly is a Balanced Diet?

It is simply the intake of different kinds of food in the required quantity and proportion in order to ensure that there is sufficient existence of nutrients, and a portion reserved for more nutrients to endure the short length of leanness. This is an actual sense means that in each of the 24 hours that make a day, whatever one takes or consumes as food must contain some certain quantity of nutrients. And what are those nutrients; They are fruits, vegetables, protein, fat, vitamin, mineral, fiber, water, and carbohydrate. Putting these foods together, we analyze them as compound foods very essential for a healthy lifestyle.

Now, taking these classes of food on a daily basis provides us with energy. Help build blocks for repairs, enhance growth, and establish substances to regulate the chemical processes.

Furthermore, good nutrients intake help reduces the risk of contracting illness and diseases. Also, prevent these diseases from further developing to the chronic stage. Some of these diseases can include diabetes, stroke, cancer, and heart disease. Bear it in mind that when these nutrients are ignored or the regulation of these balanced diets is not considered, any disease contracted might easily find its way to a chronic level. when it reaches the chronic stage it cannot be cured by any medication, and it can’t just disappear.

Yes, and because it has gotten to a chronic stage it becomes persistent or otherwise long-lasting in its effect. it becomes a disease that comes with time. But there can always be a solution to every problem. Contracting a disease that developed as a result of poor nutrients, or non-adequate intake of a balanced diet which subsequently resulted in the chronic stage can be managed by eating healthy foods. And also by applying a balanced diet formula. For this reason, it’s very important that one maintains a healthy lifestyle by focusing more on eating well.

Now let’s assume that 100 % is the overall food you were expected to consume while you are alive. You need to take out of the 100%, 50% of whole grains and nuts. Grains are foods like brown or unrefined rice, wheat, corn, Oats, Millet, Barley, Rye, Sorghum.

Eating whole grain as part of a healthy diet have a reduced risk of some chronic diseases.  while nuts are foods like walnut, Almond, peanuts, hazelnut, and Tiger nuts. Now it’s not advisable to consume those grains and nuts when they are refined, because they lack key nutrients which include vitamin B, iron Dietary fiber.

Then out of the remaining 50 percent, eat 30 percent of fruits and vegetables. Make sure to eat at least 5 portions of a variety of these every day. Fruits include; Avocado, Grape, watermelon, mango, orange, strawberries, limes, blackberries, lemon, apples, banana, and cucumber. Consuming a variety of these fruits provides the body with key vitamins antioxidants and dietary fiber. And lowers the risk of chronic disease. While vegetables include; carrot, spinach, garlic, green pea, mushrooms, broccoli, Pumpkin, cabbage, kale, turnip green, tat sol, watercress,  arugula, and chard.

Then the remaining 20 percent, we take 15 percent of protein, 5 percent of carbohydrate and fat. Proteins include; milk, oats, eggs, broccoli, chicken breast, soy, lean beef, seafood, poultry, beans, cheese. While the carbohydrates include: cassava, yam, flour, margarine.

Maintaining a balanced diet enhances strong good health and a longer life span. However, one may then ask “of what use is a balanced diet if we can also survive with one class of food”? Below is the answer to this question

  1. For your body to work effectively, a balanced diet is needed to supply the nutrients.
  2. Your body can be exposed to disease, illness, and other infections in the absence of a balanced diet
  3. One can experience fatigue and low performance
  4. It helps in the life of a growing child to avert growth and development problems.
  5. It enhances good academic performance and a healthy work-life.
  6. It reduces the risk of chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and stroke.
  7. It helps in regulating the amount of cholesterol in the life of every human being.
